§ 04 · How We Rank

Why our rankings
are different.

No brand can pay for a score, a placement, or an inclusion. Every ranking is built from evidence you can go and check: the published specs, the certifications a brand will stand behind, and what verified buyers report months later. Scored 0 to 10 across six weighted pillars, published so you can argue with it.

§ 05 · Frequently Asked

Questions, answered.

The most common things readers ask us about how JellyReviews works.

Affiliate commissions. If you click a link to a merchant and buy something, we may earn a commission, and it costs you nothing extra. That is the only money involved. No brand can buy a placement, a score, or a mention, and no brand sees a page before it is published.

By comparing evidence you can go and check yourself. The specification each maker publishes, read across every surface of its own listing, and the third-party register when the category has one (NSF, Informed Choice, EPA WaterSense, ADA, CPSC, all of them searchable in the certifier's own database). Where a listing's own surfaces disagree with each other, that gap is usually the most useful thing on the page, and it is the thing a merchant page can never contain.

Every ranking page carries the date it was last reviewed. We update a page when a product is discontinued or reformulated, or when a link stops resolving to the product it names. We do not run a fixed re-scoring calendar and we are not going to invent one to sound busier than we are.

No. There is no paid placement, no sponsored post, and no score you can buy. We do join brand affiliate programs and we do earn a commission on links, so ask the fair version of this question: does a higher commission rate move a product up? It does not. Where two products are close, we say so and tell you which one is wrong for whom.

Trust the evidence, not us. Every factual claim on this site points at something you can check without our help: a spec sheet, a certification database, a warranty document, a regulator's recall list. Where we have an opinion rather than a fact, we label it as ours and score it out of 10. And for every product we rank, we say who it is the wrong choice for, because a review with no bad news in it is an advert.

Our opinion, written as a number out of 10. It is a weighted judgment across six pillars: performance (30%), build quality (20%), value (20%), user experience (15%), sustainability (10%), and customer support (5%). The pillars and their weights are on our Methodology page. It is a judgment about published evidence, not a measurement, and we will not present it as one.
